Covid-19 Safety and Sanitation Protocol
Emma and her employee work out of her home, and our cohort is only 7 students. This keeps our points of contact low, thus reducing the current risks surrounding group care with children too young to be vaccinated.
FAQs
Will my child have to wear a mask?
Masks have become optional for those fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, there will be weeks where illness is present in the community and masks become required again for a period of time. This information will be portrayed via our parent communication app, Brightwheel.
What is the sanitizing protocol?
All toys used during the school day will be sprayed with a safe sanitizer nightly. Additionally, toys will be run through a sanitizing wash cycle on a weekly basis. Bathroom and surface will also be sanitized nightly along with general cleaning of the classroom. A more detailed account of this will be included in your parent welcome packet.
What are hand washing expectations?
Children are required to wash hands properly upon arrival with the adult dropping them off. Hand washing will be required upon transitioning back inside, before eating, and after using the toilet. Children will also be encouraged to go wash hands if anything occurs that could risk the spread of germs.
What is the cleaning protocol for the classroom turtle?
Ernie is a 21-year-old ornate wood turtle that Emma has had since 2005. Although some reptiles have been known to carry Salmonella, that is only a risk with physical contact with the reptile. Ernie will never be removed from his tank while children are present. His tank is cleaned weekly, however never during school hours. It should be noted that in the 16 years of ownership, there has never been any outbreak of Salmonella from anyone who has had contact with him. Feel free to ask any further questions you may have about Ernie!
